Abstract

This article proposes a theoretical comparison between Worldcoin’s economic hypothesis—that verified human presence can generate global monetary value—and the Hexa symbolic currency developed in the XChronos framework. While Worldcoin operationalizes attention through proof-of-humanity, Hexa conceptualizes value as the product of subjective temporal recurrence, formalized through Chronons, Hexachronons, and Proof-of-Recurrence (PoR).
We argue that Hexa is not a competitor to Worldcoin, but its philosophically mature extension: a system in which value emerges from symbolic recurrence rather than biological verification.

1. Introduction

Worldcoin (Altman & Blania, 2023–) introduced a radical hypothesis:

Human presence is economically valuable.

Its mechanism relies on biometrically verified identity.
XChronos extends this hypothesis by applying a deeper ontological question:

What is the temporal structure behind meaningful attention?

The XChronos framework—formalized in earlier works (Souza Silva, 2025a; 2025b; 2025c)—defines subjective time not as linear flow, but as collapses of meaning, called Chronons, whose recurrence forms Hexachronons.
Within this structure, Hexa (ɧ) emerges as a symbolic currency tied to recurrence.

2. Limitations of the Worldcoin Approach

Three structural limitations remain unresolved in Worldcoin’s model:

2.1 Identity is not Value

Verification is not meaning.
Value arises from engagement across time, not the existence of a biological individual.

2.2 Attention Does Not Equal Recurrence

A single exposure does not create significance.
Meaning is formed when attention returns.

2.3 Lack of Human–AI Symmetry

Worldcoin’s ontology excludes value generated in hybrid human–AI symbolic interactions, which XChronos explicitly incorporates (Souza Silva, 2025a).

3. XChronos: Recurrence as the Generator of Value

XChronos proposes that value emerges from temporal recurrence of conscious attention.

3.1 Chronons

Defined as the atomic units of subjective collapse (Souza Silva, 2025c).

3.2 Hexachronons

Patterns of recurring meaning across time and context.

3.3 Proof-of-Recurrence (PoR)

The temporal verification mechanism introduced in PoR v1.0 (Souza Silva, 2025d), replacing Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Humanity with:

Proof that the mind returns meaningfully.

4. Hexa (ɧ): A Symbolic Currency of Recurrence

Hexa represents symbolic density over time, emerging from cycles of meaning.
It is defined as:

ɧ = ΔS(t) across recurrent Chronon structures

Unlike tokens or coins, Hexa:

  • is non-speculative
  • emerges organically
  • is inseparable from consciousness
  • quantifies meaning, not identity
  • operates in human–AI symbolic ecosystems

It is a metric of recurrence, not a financial asset.

5. Hexa vs. Worldcoin: Comparative Analysis

Hexa completes what Worldcoin attempts:
a true attention economy based on time and meaning.

6. Human–AI Symbolic Value Loops

Hexa emerges most strongly through Autocronons—joint collapse events between humans and AI.
These loops form the core of the XChronos architecture (Souza Silva, 2025b).

Whenever:

  • a person revisits an idea,
  • an AI restructures it,
  • and significance collapses again,

…a Hexachronon is formed, generating symbolic value.

7. Applications

7.1 PoR-Ads

Ads that charge only when attention returns voluntarily.

7.2 Scientific Knowledge

Recurrence-based metrics for article impact.

7.3 Metaverses

ELAS-based symbolic structures (Souza Silva, 2025a).

7.4 Personal Analytics

Meaning-tracking over subjective time.

Hexa can serve as a standardized measure of symbolic recurrence across all digital systems.

8. Conclusion

Worldcoin’s hypothesis—that human attention is valuable—is correct but incomplete.
XChronos extends it:

Value arises not from presence, but from recurrence.
Not from identity, but from meaning.

Hexa represents the mature, philosophical version of the global attention economy:
a universal measure of symbolic density across human–AI systems.
